Raynefredo Losabia was apprehended along with two other suspected NPA members on September 21, 1987 by the local INP Team of Mombon, Camarines Sur. He and his companions were turned over to the PC-INP Provincial Headquarters in Concepcion Grande, Naga City.
The incident was reported over the radio and was overheard by Losabia's mother, Monica Losabia. Before Mrs. Losabia could follow-up his son, another report was released by the PC-INP Provincial Command that Losabia and his companions escaped when they were turned over to the Provincial jail in Tinangis, Pili, Camarines Sur that was four days after their arrest. Mrs. Losabia, therefore waited for her son to ome home.
Losabia, however failed to even notify his parents o his status. So mrs. Losabia started to search for her son. She then found out that the NPAs were looking for the three persons who had reportedly escaped from the military authorities. She learned further that one ALSA MASA member disguised as an NPA and collected an amount from Tinambac town residents allegedly to be spent by the three escapees.
On the other hand, a military intelligence man was heard by a reliable informant to have said in a drinking spree that he had already liquidated a number of detainees at the camp (undetermined as to where this camp is). This incident happened a few days after the three were reported to have escaped.
