On August 13, 2006, at around 9:30 pm, eight armed men in military uniforms and carrying long firearms forcibly abducted Marvin Santos Verano, and Roderick John Cruz, both residing at Purok 5, Brgy. San Jose, Hagonoy, Bulacan.   

According to the report, eight armed men entered the residential house of Maria Elena Santos Verano, mother of one of the victims, looking for a certain "Tunying," and once inside started searching for a certain long firearm but failed to locate Alyas Tunying and said firearms but took the persons of Marvin and his brother-in-law Roderick. The alleged armed men used a PUJ-type vehicle as their getaway and drove it leading to the Hagonoy town proper. 

On August 15, 2006, a cartographic sketch was taken at the CIDG Office, Malolos City, based on the description given by Mary Jane Verano, the live-in partner of Roderick, to two (2) of the said suspects. The composite illustration described suspect number 1 as a semi-muscular (chubby) male person with black hair, black eyes, a brown complexion, aged 45-50, and a height of 5'5" and in a Tagalog accent. Suspect number 2 is described as a slim-body-build male person with black hair, black eyes, a fair complexion, aged 25-30, and 5'6"-5'7" in height, also in a Tagalog accent. 

A discreet investigation conducted revealed, based on the information gathered from some of the neighbors of Maria Elena Santo Verano, that the two people are members of a leftist group.  As of this writing, the whereabouts of Marvin Santos Verona and Roderick John Cruz are not yet known.
