Camarines Norte
ERNESTO B. PACAO, 17 years old, single, of San Isidro, San Lorenzo Ruiz, Camarines Norte, left their place at around 3:00 p.m. of 25 June 1987 with Mario Asis, 16 years old, also single, to go to Daet, Camarines Norte. Mario told his parents that they will be back the following day.

Ernesto and Mario did not return home as expected, causing their families to worry. Their parents sought the boys' friends to ask for help to search for them. They went to Mercedes, Camarines Norte, to look for the two, but to no avail.  On 1 July 1987, their parents went to Aurora Street, Daet, Camarines Norte, to see a Mr. Abraham. They gathered from his wife that Ernesto and Mario arrived in the Abraham residence around 6:00 p.m. of 25 June and proceeded to the town center. They were back in the house around 9:00 in the evening. Early the following day, about 5:00, the two were in a hurry and left the house.

The women then went to Hinipaan, Mercedes, to see the barangay's secretary. They asked her to accompany them to the municipal police station of Mercedes, which in turn had no information to offer.

Ten days lapsed, and Ernesto and Mario remained missing. On 6 July 1987, the boys' parents, with people from their barrio, went to the Dogongan PC Headquarters at Daet, Camarines Norte. They talked with the Col., who advised them that information on the two cases of disappearance will be dispatched to all police stations in Camarines Norte. On that same day, different radio stations in Camarines Norte aired news about the missing boys.

To this day, the motive(s), the identity of the perpetrators, and the whereabouts of the two remain unknown.
