Ernesto Bacani, a farmer, was allegedly abducted by the military. It is sad that Ernesto once had a dispute with an informant.  A certain Manding, an alleged military informant, was said to be among the abductors. According to the father of Julio, he and his friend Ernesto were eating in a carinderia when suspected military men forcibly abducted Julio and shoved him inside an owner-type jeep without a plate number, and then it sped away.  The next day, February 18, 1986, relatives of the 2 missing men went to the PC detachment in Sta. Cruz and talked with the captain, only to be told that they must admit that the 2 men were members of the NPA and they will surface.  The relatives also checked other military camps and detachments but never found Julio or Ernesto.  Ernesto's wife is 8 months pregnant at the time of his disappearance.  From then on he was never seen again.
