Three young engineers, an airport employee, and an engineering student have been reported missing since Sunday, February 10, 1991, after armed men posing as police officers dragged them out of a basketball court inside the Camella Homes Subdivision, Parañaque.

Edgardo Astillero, mechanical engineer, was among these victims.

Relatives of the five men fear a case of mistaken identity or possibly "salvaging" and have started a search for them in various police and military units in Metro Manila.

According to a sister of the victims, the five had just finished a basketball game with some friends at about four o'clock in the afternoon when two Lancer cars, one red and the other green, with a backup jeep, stopped at the basketball court and rounded up the five.

She said that the eldest one in the group argued with lawmen but was still dragged to the waiting vehicles.

Witnesses said they saw the five bound with rope before the three vehicles sped away. The still fruitless search by the relatives who came all the way from Albay and Legaspi City prompted them to report to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the PNP.

details about their circumstances.
