On April 23, 2018, 12:20 a.m., Christian "Toto/G" Reburiano and 3 of his friends were abducted by more or less six unidentified men at Summitville, Barangay Putatan, Muntinlupa City. According to the victims' relatives, witnesses informed them that there were three men with high-powered armalites who were wearing short pants, caps, and black jackets who alighted from a white, heavily tinted L300 van.The vehicle's beam lights were switched to high. It had a fake plate number because it was traced to that of a truck. Inside the van were three other men, including the driver.

Reburiano tried to run away, but one of the men told him that if he escaped, he would be shot, so Reburiano stopped, and the men took him as well.

Before the incident, at about 10:00 p.m. On April 22, Santos, Abalos, and Anzures were having a drinking session along the street near the house of Abalos at Summitville, Barangay Putatan, Muntinlupa City. Abalos won in the small-time gambling of "ending" and decided to treat his friends to a round of drinks. Reburiano served as the group's errand boy. He was close to Abalos because the latter works as a "kristo" during cockfights, and Reburiano was fond of taking care of chickens.

At about 12:20 a.m., a witness informed Abalos' brother, Adrian, that the group of friends was being arrested. Adrian, who was shirtless and outside his house at that time, hurried home to get his shirt. When he arrived at the area where the group was drinking, his brother and his friends were already gone. Adrian found a broken bottle of Red Horse, another bottle that was half full, and two pieces of slippers that allegedly belonged to Abalos and Anzures.

The footage from the CCTV cameras of the nearby private establishments showed that the van went toward the direction of Katarungan 1 and the New Bilibid Prison. Unfortunately, none of the footage showed the actual abduction of Abalos and his friends.

The relatives of Abalos, Santos, Anzures, and Reburiano looked for them in camps, police stations, and hospitals, as well as in the provinces of Cavite, Batangas, and Laguna, but did not find them.
