CARLOS N. TAYAG, an ordained deacon of the Order of Saint Benedict, was reportedly abducted by unidentified armed men in a house in Quezon City on August 17, 1976.

 

Irenea Tayag (the mother's victim) said the abductors reportedly went inside the house and forcibly abducted Carlos Tayag at gunpoint when they found him typing. After the incident, Mrs. Irenea Tayag, along with other relatives, went to the Ministry of National Defense at the NISA (National Intelligence Service Agency) Office to inquire about the whereabouts of Carlos but later yielded negative results.     According to the officer-in-charge of the NISA office (no name mentioned) in V. Luna, after learning that Caloy was a seminarian, he then ordered his subordinates to look under the file list of "CHRISTIAN LEFTIST" but later claimed no knowledge of Caloy's whereabouts, nor did any of the other agencies concerned.

 

For the next three months the family of Caloy went to resume their search and even tried to approach high-ranking members of the church, military officials, and politicians, but to no avail.

 

In the early month of September, information was received by Mrs. Irenea Tayag that her son Caloy was in Camp Bicutan (Camp Bagong Diwa), and she hurriedly went to the said camp along with her son Nick and brought along with them a big can of biscuits. Upon their arrival at the said camp, they were told that there was no Carlos Tayag detained.    Since the abduction of Carlos Tayag, he has never been seen again.
