Beth Balila of 7 Villa Angeles, Bangbang, Pasig, was an active member of the Alliance of Nationalist and Genuine Labor Organization (ANGLO), an affiliate of the Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU); she was working at Chems de Baron, a garment factory in Mandaluyong. In 1989 she disappeared without a trace. According to Beth's mother, Carmelita Balila, Beth told her that she was accused as a rebel by three bulky men. It was May 1989 when one of the three men pointed at her and told his companions that she was a wanted person. Then, the same thing happened in mid-June when the same men accosted her and held her arms tightly and accused her of being a rebel Amazon. Last July 16, 1989, at around 11:00 in the morning, she left her house and was never seen again.
