Antonio Clemente V. Samson, a member of the Board of Directors of the Institute for Developmental Education and Services (IDES), a community service based in Marikina, has not been traced since he left his house on November 20, 1989, around 10 o'clock in the morning. He was last seen in mustard pants, a dark gray polo shirt, and black Converse shoes.According to his wife, Catherine, 30, her husband never fails to call up about his whereabouts. She says it was very disturbing and unusual.

After her husband's disappearance, some incidents could lead to his possible abduction. On November 22 at around 2:00 pm, Catherine noticed a white converted-type jeep parked in front of their house. Three burly-looking men aboard the jeep were seen staring at the Samson residence. Minutes later, the car sped off towards Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong.

That same day, Atty. Alfredo Duran, brother of Catherine, who was also a resident of the same compound, saw another vehicle, a stainless owner-type jeep with plate number NAC-724, being parked near their place.

Anonymous callers were reported to have been contacting the victim's relatives since the disappearance took place.

IDES is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that caters to the education and health needs of depressed communities, in particular in the area of Marikina. Samson had offered his services to the institution since its embellishment three years ago.

The victim's family had the incident reported in the nearby police station and started making rounds to various places, including military camps, that may lead to his whereabouts.
